A Brief History:
The first meeting for the Englehart Area Artists was held in April 1989. A group of 14 people met in April 1989 forming a slate of officers with Alice Sawicki as the club's first president. A Constitution was established the same year enabling executives to officiate for two years. Meetings were held first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 P.M. The Business part of the meeting was held first, followed by various demonstrations with members participating. Originally our meetings were held at the Englehart Museum, eventually migrating to the hall at the Northern Beacon Rebekah Lodge, except for summer months when we paint out doors at various locations.
Our objective then as well as today is to inspire, help develop and discover, to stimulate and help identify and resolve problems pertaining to Artists.
Our club held a logo contest which was won by former club treasurer, Victoria Leroux.
Victoria also painted a banner with Englehart Area Artists painted in an array of colours to resemble the colour wheel. Our club banner is proudly displayed at all events in which we participate.
In 1990, Englehart Area Artists became a member of the Northern Ontario Art Association.
Several of our members have earned their NOAA letters, including Berdina Beaven, Lionel Venne, and Shirley Howard, with more on the way.
As a result of forming E.A.A. Club, our members have grown in their artistic abilities, and our community has become aware of the artistic talent we represent.

Past EAA Activities
We have been a very active art club. Three of our members were approached by the Englehart Hospital to paint murals on the walls in Emergency. Berdina Beaven, Gwen Colquhoun and Alice Sawicki, decided on the Care Bear theme.
For the Millennium project, we made a collaborative collage and donated it to the Englehart hospital. And as always, during the summer we enjoy painting En Plain Air. We have held Art & Yard Sales, Garden & Art Shows and Christmas Art Tours. We have donated paintings or volunteered our time to various clubs and organizations.
We have had painting sessions with the Seniors at Northview Nursing Home. Once the paintings were completed, they were all framed and are on display at the lodge. Several members of the club painted very large panels depicting the history of the Charlton area for Charlton-Dack's 100th Anniversary.
Our club received an Appreciation Award Certificate from the Englehart Museum for many hours of volunteering their time and another Appreciation Award from the Rotary Club for donations of gifts for their events.
We have participated in many other events. The list goes on and it's no wonder. We have been going for so many years.
